Privacy notice
How AI Prefect handles the small amount of personal data it collects. Last updated: 23 October 2026.
Who runs this site
AI Prefect is an independent project run by Kenneth Ochiabuto in the United Kingdom, who is the data controller for the data described here. Contact: hello@onlinewebpresence.net.
What we collect and why
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address, so we can send you The AI Prefect Weekly. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Suggest a tool, request a check or send a correction: the tool name, what it’s used for or its website, and any notes you enter, so we can research it. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the database accurate.
- Email when a requested tool is listed (optional): if you leave your email when requesting a check, we use it only to send you one email when that tool is listed, and nothing else. Our lawful basis is your consent. We delete the email address after sending that email, or within 90 days if the tool has not been listed by then. You can ask us to delete it sooner. We never show it publicly; the site only shows how many times a tool has been requested.
- Rating-change alerts (optional): if you ask to be told when a tool’s rating changes, we store your email address, the tool, and the date and wording of your agreement. We use it only to email you about rating changes for the tools you chose. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the one-click unsubscribe link in every alert or by contacting us, and we then delete your address. We don’t share it or use it for anything else.
- Our tools list and compare pages: the tools you pick are kept in the page link and in your own browser’s storage on your device. They are not sent to or stored by us.
- Hosting logs: our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share your data for marketing.
Who processes data for us
- Vercel: website hosting.
- Supabase: database for suggestions and rating-change alerts, hosted in London (eu-west-2).
- EmailIt: newsletter subscriber list and sending emails.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, under the safeguards set out in their own terms.
How long we keep it
Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Alert addresses are kept until you stop the alerts. Emails left with a check request are deleted after the one-off notification is sent, or within 90 days. Other suggestion details are kept for as long as they are useful for maintaining the database, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
Unsubscribing, access and deletion
Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. To see, correct or delete any data we hold about you, contact us at the address above. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
